CROG staff proposed that the committee recommend a resolution authorizing submission of a supplemental Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) planning and demonstration grant application of up to $1.25 million in project cost. Roger explained the proposal: an 80% federal share (up to $1,000,000) would require a 20% local match of $250,000. Proposed scope would include concept-level intersection-safety plans with cost estimates and traffic analysis, plus quick-build demonstration activities selected after award in coordination with municipalities.
Roger asked the committee to approve forwarding the resolution to the policy board and said an executive director signature would be used to execute any agreement if an award is received. Patrice Carson moved to approve the resolution and Larry Burrell seconded. Members voted "I," no opposition was recorded, and the resolution passed and will be forwarded to the policy board for adoption at their May meeting.
Staff said the application deadline is May 26 and that project locations would be selected after an award, with municipal engagement and outreach planned as a next step.
