Subcommittee reports 475 tenant responses as rental-inspection work continues

Commission member Solveig, who presented the update, said the subcommittee is compiling a final work plan through December that will evaluate funding realities for the code enforcement office, survey landlords and tenants, interview experts, and identify more efficient approaches given limited budgets.
"Today as of early this morning we had 475 completed surveys by tenants and a whopping 210 of the landlord which is like 30% approximately," Solveig said, describing current response rates and the subcommittee’s reliance on university volunteers to boost outreach.
Solveig added that a PhD student has agreed to perform data analysis as part of her dissertation and that staff are coordinating with new code co-director Tom Pile and IT specialists to explore software or workflow changes for inspections.
The commission did not take a formal vote but expressed support for the outreach approach and asked the subcommittee to report back as analysis is completed and recommendations are drafted.
