The City Council unanimously recommended on April 21 that the Arizona Department of Liquor Licensing and Control approve a Series 10 beer and wine store license for a new Circle K at Ironwood and Ray (store #9288).
City Clerk Evie McKenna said inspections from police, building and safety, planning and zoning and the fire district complied with inspection requirements and recommended approval. Jordan Ridberg, representing Circle K, described a 5,700‑square‑foot convenience store with seven fuel dispensers at the proposed northeast corner location and answered council questions about the project.
The council opened a public hearing, heard no speakers and then voted to forward a recommendation for approval to the state liquor board; staff noted the application must be submitted back to the liquor board by May 15, 2026.
