City Manager Kevin Ramsey and streets staff described the division’s daily goals of enhancing city appearance and creating safer streets through landscaping, sign fabrication, sidewalk repairs and regular inspections of city‑ and FPL‑owned street lights. The presentation said the division averages about eight cubic yards of litter removed per day and performs a weekly sweep of assigned district miles.
Staff reported that, between Sept. 25 and March 26, the division addressed 1,098 task requests and identified 380 sidewalk repair locations in a citywide audit. The presentation noted Federal Highway landscape improvements are in progress and that the division has a roughly $160,000 annual budget for beautification services, with two positions partially funded by the CRA.
Commissioners praised the team’s work and asked staff to follow up on specific sprinklers and lights. The mayor and multiple commissioners encouraged residents to use city reporting channels (RockSolid program) to flag issues so staff can respond.
Outcome: Commissioners expressed support and asked staff to continue coordinated work with county and state partners and to provide follow‑up on identified maintenance items.
