FFA president Emma Strickler highlights state placings, fundraiser and national convention spot

Emma Strickler, introduced herself as president of the Amanda-Clearcreek FFA chapter and told the board the chapter is changing its banquet date (tentatively May 5) to accommodate sports and band events.
Strickler described recent community involvement—members helped at the AC PTO carnival and a math-and-science night—and promoted a current hog-raffle fundraiser that sells tickets for a half-processed hog with proceeds to Nationwide Children's Hospital. "If anyone is interested I do have those with me," she said.
She also summarized Career Development Event results: Riley Strickler placed seventh in the Creed preliminaries; another member finished seventh in a prepared category; the chapter's sales team placed fifth in the state. Emma said she placed first in her room and first overall in the advanced prepared public speaking category and "will actually get to represent Ohio next year at the National Convention."
The board thanked Strickler for the update and congratulated the chapter on its results and fundraising efforts. No formal action was required on the presentation; the later agenda included approval of the spring FFA trip (June 2–4 to Kentucky).
