The Village of Jackson Budget & Finance Committee on April 21 recommended the Village Board authorize fundraising to pursue purchase of a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) for the Jackson Fire Department.
Fire Department leadership — the Chief, accompanied by Battalion Chief Lamb and Battalion Chief Gonzalez — presented the request and emphasized the current item was a request to fundraise and not an immediate purchase. The Chief said the proposal is intended to allow the department to pursue outside funding and community buy-in while the village addresses other upcoming capital needs.
A motion to recommend authorizing the fundraising and purchase was made by Olsen, seconded by Wells, and carried unanimously.
What happens next: the recommendation will be forwarded to the Village Board for consideration of any fundraising authorization and subsequent purchase approvals; the committee did not record a specific fundraising target or purchase price in its meeting minutes.
