Mr. Tiner presented a draft of committee reassignments and alternates to the administrative committee and thanked Mr. Eatman for his work helping prepare the list. Members debated whether to finalize changes immediately or delay a week so Richard could vote, but the committee moved to adopt the slate and allow minor tweaks later.
Mr. Holmes read the assignments as drafted: "On projects, I have Mr. Eatman as the chair, Mr. Laneir as vice chair, Mr. Henry as a member, and Mr. Busby as the alternate. On admin, I have Mr. Fail as the chair, Mr. Eatman as the vice chair, Mr. Tiner as the member, and Miss Howard as the alternate. On properties, I have Mr. Henry as the chair, Miss Howard as the vice chair, Mr. Eatman as the member, and Mr. Tiner as the alternate. On litigation/insurance, I have Mr. Tiner as the chair, Mr. Busby as the vice chair, Mr. Fail as the member, and Mr. Laneir as the alternate," he said.
A motion to adopt the slate was made, seconded and passed. Committee members reiterated that the resolution wording must be finalized by Friday if the item is to be placed on next Tuesday's full council agenda. Several members volunteered swaps or indicated they would talk among themselves to make final adjustments before council.
What happens next: the adopted committee slate will be submitted as a resolution to the full Tuscaloosa City Council next week; any additional swaps or corrections can be handled by separate resolutions or amendments at council discretion.
