Sugar Grove board approves consent agenda, authorizes two STP road resurfacing projects

The Village of Sugar Grove board on April 7 approved its consent agenda and voted to authorize local matches for two federally funded highway resurfacing projects.
During the meeting the board approved a resolution authorizing the village’s 25% share of construction and construction-engineering costs for Wheeler Road under the STP (Surface Transportation Program). Brad Marco, who presented the item, said the local match is required to receive federal funds and noted the project has been on the village program for several years. Trustees moved, seconded and approved the measure by roll call.
Trustees also approved a second STP-funded resurfacing resolution covering the Dugan/Duban corridor. Brian Morg (identified in the agenda as the presenter) summarized the project limits and said the roundabout would not be reconstructed. That resolution likewise passed on roll call.
Separately, the board authorized the purchase of a replacement hitch coupler for a roughly 20‑year‑old wheel loader used to load salt trucks; staff said the purchase was included in the proposed budget.
The consent agenda approved earlier in the meeting included vouchers, an electric-supply renewal contract (up to 48 months), fees and permits for FY2026–27, liquor-license approvals, and other routine items.
The board recorded roll-call affirmatives for the consent agenda and each separate resolution; no further public comment was received on these items.
