The Greenwood Common Council approved a set of personnel and policy measures on April 20, 2026, largely by unanimous votes.
Council members passed first reading of Ordinance 2611, an amendment to the 2026 salary ordinance to raise the hourly wage for a part‑time city court assistant and to adjust planner and community development positions. Miss Gibson sponsored the ordinance and it passed first reading by roll call, 7‑0.
On second reading the council adopted Resolution 2603, which amends Resolution 92‑2 to establish a city policy for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and names the current capital projects manager as the ADA coordinator. Council also adopted Ordinance 2606 on second reading, which updates the Greenwood Municipal Code (chapter 2, city administration) to reflect the ADA policy and change the designated ADA coordinator. Both measures were sponsored by Miss Gibson and passed on second reading by 7‑0 roll call votes.
The council adopted Ordinance 2608 on second reading to revise definitions, longevity pay and paid time‑off policy for certain public‑safety retirees who return to work and to remove an older provision regarding a 37.5‑hour workweek for new employees. The ordinance passed on second reading by roll call, 7‑0.
In miscellaneous business the council considered three CF1 compliance items. Each motion was made by Mr. Hopper and seconded by Mr. Moan, and the council approved all three items unanimously.
The measures approved under these agenda items were procedural and policy updates to city personnel practices and to the city's ADA compliance policy; none imposed new taxes or fees. The council did not record substantive debate on the ordinances during the meeting and several items were advanced on routine motion and roll call. The meeting adjourned after brief closing remarks from the mayor's office.
