Molly Satter, the district's health services coordinator, urged families to use the summer to prepare medical paperwork and care plans needed for the school year.
Satter recommended that families reconnect with providers to obtain necessary medical forms and immunizations — particularly items required at kindergarten and sixth grade — and to complete medication consent forms that must be signed by both a doctor and a parent and delivered to the school nurse. She offered this scheduling advice: do not wait until August because appointment availability can be limited.
On athletics, Satter reminded families that pre-participation physicals must be dated after April 1 for middle- and high-school sports participation and that establishing a plan with mental-health providers over the summer can reduce interruptions once classes resume.
