Commissioners approved moving $1,500 within the Local Purpose Tax Fund (Fund 120) for the trustee commission, a $2,000 amendment in the Solid Waste Fund (Fund 116), and a $5,000 transfer in the General Fund (Fund 101) for liability insurance. Each of those amendments was moved and seconded and passed by roll call with unanimous yes votes.
On EMS purchases, staff reported a grant award and vendor quotes for new equipment from Stryker. The grant amount shared in the packet was $30,303.03 and the final vendor quote was $30,508.40; commissioners discussed ensuring no federal restrictions remained on the trade-in equipment. The commission approved a consolidated motion to authorize $31,103.03 from Ambulance Fund 118 to cover the grant and a payroll supplement for EMS, with the stipulation that no federal funding remain tied to equipment being traded in.
The commission also corrected prior minutes to show courthouse and jail maintenance transactions using Fund 112 (not Fund 101) and approved a Tennessee notary public for Michelle Lee Goodwin.
For appointments, the commission accepted Dwayne Brock’s decision not to seek reappointment to the planning commission and appointed Jeremiah Maynes to fill the term beginning July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2030; the nomination was seconded and approved by the commissioners present.
The board received, for information, a notice from the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security (via Environmental Corporation of America) about a proposed 250-foot telecommunications tower near Fire Tower Road in Spencer; the packet asked whether the commission had any comments about effects on historic properties. No action was required on that notice.
Several items were moved in the meeting by named commissioners (motions and roll-call tallies appear in the minutes); all of the budget and appointment motions passed. The meeting ended after a public-comment segment and a motion to adjourn.
