Commission members reviewed event promotion plans and sponsorship opportunities for several upcoming community activities.
Staff said sponsorship packages are live in the Civic registration system and recommended businesses sign up online; Lily (the marketing contact) is managing sponsor outreach. Immediate needs include $400 to cover a sound engineer for Bill Park's Got Talent and sponsorship support for a children's play, "Alice in Adventureland."
On unfinished business, Commissioner John Dorhower said the Lufkin Park Concert Series dates are tentatively held on the village calendar but the event permit has not yet been approved; staff needs to provide a resident letter and finalize permit paperwork. Potential food-truck vendors have cited minimums ($225 and $300 each), and commissioners noted the fund commission has in past instances covered shortfalls when vendor minimums were not met.
Commissioners also discussed promotional tactics (yard signs, PTA and school-district outreach, and digital backpacks) to increase performer sign-ups and audience attendance. No funding approvals were made; staff will continue sponsorship solicitation and follow up on permit status.
