The St. Peter City Council on Sept. 22 approved a resolution extending the Community Center lease with School District 508 for use by Community Education, ESL and related programs through Sept. 20, 2028.
City staff said the extension preserves existing access to the gym under prior scheduling arrangements, does not expand or reduce current space use, and includes 3 percent rent increases in each contract year. Staff said the first year of the renewed lease will generate roughly $47,000 and that revenues would rise to slightly more than $50,000 by the third year.
Council members said they value the long-standing partnership with the school district and noted the lease helps keep family and community services co-located. The council moved and approved the resolution by roll call.
