Bonner County adopts updated multi-jurisdictional All Hazards mitigation plan required by FEMA

Bonner County adopted its updated 2025 All Hazards Multi-Jurisdictional Plan on May 12, a required update under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 that is needed for FEMA mitigation funding eligibility.
Emergency Management Director Bob Howard told the commissioners the plan had been updated by contractor support and county GIS work, and emphasized that once the board adopts the plan the county will send the adoption document to FEMA and participating cities so they can likewise adopt and preserve access to mitigation funding for projects. "Once it's adopted today, we'll send the adoption document to FEMA and this document will then be official," Howard said.
Commissioners praised the mapping work and the comprehensiveness of the update. A motion to adopt the resolution passed on roll call.
