The Bonner County Board of County Commissioners on May 12 approved reappointments and new appointments to the county's Board of Community Guardians.
A representative of the Board of Community Guardian recommended reappointing Donna Johnson and Marianna Britton for four-year terms beginning June 1, 2026. Commissioner (speaker 2) moved to approve the reappointments and Commissioner (speaker 3) seconded; the motion passed by roll call. The commissioners then considered and approved two additional appointments, restoring the advisory board to full membership.
Board staff said the reappointed and newly appointed members had passed required background checks and training. Commissioners debated whether to file separate resolutions for each name to improve recordkeeping; the chair and other members ultimately accepted the single-resolution approach for these items.
The board recorded the votes by roll call and formally thanked administrative staff for supporting the volunteer board process. The appointments will carry four-year terms as stated in the motions and the board noted the appointments are volunteer positions that provide oversight and service to residents who rely on the board's programs.
The board took no further action on related items.
