Council approves city assistance for Nicollet County Trails Association haunted hayride at Riverside Park

The St. Peter City Council voted Oct. 13 to provide city assistance to the Nicollet County Trails Association for a haunted hayride to be held at Riverside Park on the weekends of Oct. 17–18 and Oct. 24–25.
Staff described the request as similar to prior years' support, noting the association works with nonprofits and provides accessible features such as wheelchair‑accessible hay racks. The event organizer will be required to provide an insurance certificate and follow parks department rules; staff said the association has been responsive and collaborative in past events.
Council members commented that the event is well attended and encouraged continued cooperation. The resolution approving city assistance passed by roll call.
