Following an executive session on union negotiations, St. Peter’s City Council voted June 9 to authorize a corrected one‑year contract between the City of St. Peter and AFL‑CIO Local 70 for water, wastewater and storm water employees.
City staff summarized the principal terms: a 3% across‑the‑board wage increase for covered employees; the formal addition of a laboratory technician classification and its pay scale; a modification to jury‑duty language; an additional license stipend for foremen; clarified holiday language; changes to on‑call pay; and adjustments to uniform and safety‑shoe provisions. Staff told the council the document in the packet contained drafting errors and requested approval of the corrected resolution.
The council approved the corrected resolution by roll call. Staff said the contract is a one‑year agreement covering calendar year 2025, and the council directed the mayor and city administrator to finalize the contract paperwork. The contract will come under standard city administrative processes for implementation and payroll adjustments.
