Resident supports student housing but urges design changes for neighborhood fit

She said the property’s unusual triangular shape and a twin‑home design with garages facing 7th Avenue would create safety concerns for vehicles exiting the garages because drivers frequently speed on that street. "I do just kind of worry a little bit for the space ... I also do worry that there wouldn't be enough space for the person living there to actually have like a yard at all," she said, urging the council to consider a single-family lot layout rather than a twin home.
Council members thanked Eliza for her comments; staff noted that the project has had official surveys and architectural review and that staff and the developer will continue to address neighborhood concerns through the planning process.
