Santa Paula Unified appoints Lori Sanchez as McKevett Elementary principal

The Santa Paula Unified School District board voted to appoint Lori Sanchez as principal of McKevett Elementary, ending her interim status. President Sandoval reported the closed-session action when the meeting reconvened at 6:08 p.m., and trustees approved the appointment by vote.
Sanchez addressed the board and community, thanking district leaders and staff and describing her priorities. “I am truly honored and grateful for the trust you placed in me to serve as principal at McKevett Elementary,” she said, noting personal ties to the campus and her commitment to family engagement and arts programming through partnerships such as the Santa Paula Art Museum.
The appointment was announced as part of the board’s report out of closed session. Trustees then continued with the evening’s agenda, which included routine approvals and policy first readings.
