Spanish Fort council approves $24,350 annual mosquito-control contract

The Spanish Fort City Council voted unanimously on April 20 to authorize a contract with Vector Disease Control International LLC to provide mosquito-control services to the city at an annual cost of $24,350. The contract covers surveillance, larviciding, adulticiding, recordkeeping, additional training and public outreach.
Mr. Connor introduced Resolution No. 1589-2026 and summarized the scope and the $24,350 annual price. After brief discussion, a motion to approve the resolution carried on a roll-call vote with all council members voting yes.
The contract will be billed monthly based on invoices submitted by the contractor, Mr. Connor said. Council did not attach additional conditions in the meeting; staff will proceed with the vendor contract and invoicing as described.
