After a closed executive session, the Richland 01 Board of School Commissioners on April 21 approved a set of personnel and organizational actions recommended by administration.
Dr. Walker presented an updated organizational chart that repurposes and creates positions to accompany the district’s reorganization; the board approved the chart unanimously.
Human resources items approved included: salary grade assignments for certain senior roles (information only), a leave of absence without pay for family leave, appointment of T.C. as senior chief strategy officer and C.V. as chief financial officer for fiscal 2026–27, approval of named contract non‑renewals for the 2026–27 school year (certified staff listed as exceptions will not receive contracts), and approval to hire 15 teachers across 2025–26 and 2026–27.
Commissioners emphasized transparency in personnel decisions and asked staff to ensure public clarity when actions result from executive session matters. Commissioner Divine moved and the board authorized the chair to consult with legal counsel and respond to a student grievance, and the board approved the requested personnel items by recorded motions.
