Greendale approves Hallowings festival permit, waives small application fee

The Public Celebrations Committee, village manager, and police chief reviewed the application and recommended approval with no conditions. Staff proposed removing roughly $750 in fees (materials, staff time and application costs) given that trick‑or‑treat falls on a weekend this year. Trustees discussed logistics including bleachers (provided by the school) and noted the new application form has some misaligned fields that staff will review with the clerk’s office.
Trustees encouraged further promotion of the Sunday parade concluding the event to boost attendance. The permit and the fee waiver were approved by roll call vote.
The organizer will coordinate with school staff for bleachers and finalize logistics with village staff; the board asked staff to review the new application form to align questions and answers correctly.
