Board approves 2026–27 student fee schedule after debate over family pass increases

The Mosinee School District board voted to approve the 2026–27 student fee schedule after discussion about proposed increases, particularly for adult and family season passes.

Administrators presented the recommended fee schedule as part of student‑handbook preparations and explained revenue from fees is deposited into the district general fund to offset consumable and program costs such as CTE supplies. “That money’s collected then allows that budget to be higher than normal,” an administrator said, describing the indirect support fees provide for course materials.

Several board members voiced concern about raising the adult/family season pass price and asked for clarity on where fee revenue goes and how parents are notified of outstanding balances. One director asked whether parents can still pay fees at open house and suggested adding clearer statements and notices in enrollment paperwork; administration said fees will be preloaded in the next year’s online enrollment and that email statements are sent to families.

Motion to approve the schedule was made by Director Stanowski and seconded by Director Nest.
