A staff member addressed as Joe told the panel the department had emailed the building division and would remind permit clerks to direct applicants to the planning office; staff also said the item will go to the city commission for final consideration and that the panel can provide comment when it does.
A member suggested giving new business owners clearer written guidance when they obtain business licenses or conditional-use approvals so owners understand requirements such as architectural review. The owner also acknowledged a recently installed sign and was told staff would check whether it complies with sign regulations.
