The Town of Ramseur's utilities director told commissioners the town received a quote from Seven Lakes Contracting Asphalt Services for $24,311 to patch seven locations where water-line work has damaged pavement, and that $35,122 in Powell-bill funds were available to cover the work.
Commissioners raised that some repairs are on DOT roads and that portions of the work tied to recent waterline installation may be the responsibility of the installing contractor. The utilities director said some spots are clearly town responsibility and that one local paving company had quoted $11,000 for a single cemetery-area repair; Seven Lakes' quote covers seven patches for $24,311.
A motion to accept the Seven Lakes quote, excluding the West Ridge Street patch, was made, seconded and carried by voice vote. The utilities director said staff can instruct the contractor to proceed on the approved patches and would follow up on coordination for areas that intersect contractor obligations tied to the waterline.
