Trustee Datley moved the resolution to approve the contract and trustees passed it unanimously; President Bo said the board will follow up with related ordinance language addressing a mandatory retirement age tied to the collective bargaining agreement. "There will be just something we'll be bringing to the board that's connected to the contract which is a resolution that we'll have to pass an ordinance for one of the changes to the contract," the president said.
After adopting the contract, trustees considered conversion of a part‑time officer. Chief Eugene explained that state rules require a full‑time hiring step before applying for the transition academy and that the village must complete an administrative waiver process. Trustees voted to convert Officer Anthony Allegreti to full‑time and approved sending him to the Full‑Time Transition Academy, with Chief and administration to complete required paperwork and scheduling for the June academy intake.
Both actions were carried with no recorded opposition at the meeting.
