The Madera County Board of Supervisors presented a proclamation on April 21 recognizing the Head & Neck Cancer Alliance Move‑a‑Thon and its fundraising role for patients and caregivers.
Larry Bonham, a Move‑a‑Thon organizer, described the program as the alliance’s primary fundraiser that supports prevention, diagnosis, treatment and post‑treatment community services for people with head and neck cancers. "The organization itself actually donates money to everything up front to everything at the end in terms of whether it's caregiving, whether it's information sources," Bonham said.
Board members expressed appreciation and invited staff to participate in post‑meeting activities tied to the fundraiser.
No formal vote was required for the proclamation; the item was presented and recognized by the board.
