Tangipahoa Parish staff presented the committee’s quarterly capital outlay and maintenance reports and clarified reporting procedures.
Mr. McNeely said the reports reflect the policy amended last year requiring staff to report any purchase order issued for over $10,000 to the board. He noted a labeling error on one attachment that had incorrectly labeled a maintenance document as capital outlay, which made the capital outlay list appear larger than intended. Staff corrected that label.
Committee members asked whether purchases over a threshold require approval or are simply reported; staff clarified that purchases above the threshold are reported to the committee, not automatically approved. Mr. McNeely cited Family Tradition Lawn Care as an example of a vendor appearing on the report for grass cutting because the purchase order exceeded $10,000.
No formal action was required or taken on the reports; staff invited members to send any follow‑up questions by email.
