Council, sitting as the Board of Adjustment, heard staff presentation on a proposed preliminary plat to subdivide the DSI property on the south end of West Sea Street into two lots so the south building can be sold.
Dennis Estus explained Benchmark’s survey work, the identification and separation of utility lines, and a recommendation to realign easements and dedicate a jog of Sea Street as public right‑of‑way. Staff said the plat corrects several overlapping zones on the property and clarifies utilities so the owners may proceed with a sale.
Council approved the preliminary plat by voice vote. Staff said the final plat and any rezoning would return to council for final action. No members of the public spoke in opposition at the hearing.
Next step: staff will prepare a final plat and bring zoning and final‑plat approval back to council.
