Supervisor David Turner reported he had been in communication with a representative from Greenbelt Home Care, which is seeking approval from the Department of Inspection and Appeals to provide home health services in the county but would not take on the county’s public health responsibilities. In response, the board directed that a work session be scheduled with the Board of Health and public health staff to evaluate service delivery on a quarterly basis and to invite outside agencies that might provide contract services. No formal contract or staffing change was approved at the May 4 meeting.
The discussion emphasized evaluation and potential contracting rather than immediate transfers of responsibility; the board did not vote on assignments or enter into any agreement during the session.
