Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department reports 2,022 incidents in 2025; cites training and $2 million in state funding

The report noted substantial community outreach (parades, school events, blood drives and station tours) and fundraising: the Lemoore Fire Department Association has raised $150,000 over five years for the Leon S. Peters Burn Center in Fresno and recently received a new Type 1 engine and an incoming wildland truck. The presenter said the department has begun building a training facility scheduled to break ground in early 2026 and credited approximately $2 million in funding from "Senator Herado" for recent purchases and capacity improvements.
Council members thanked the volunteers and asked several operational questions about training frequency and crew sizes. The presenter noted weekly Tuesday training nights and that crews are organized with captains and chiefs.
