At its April 21 meeting the Rondout Valley Central School District board approved multiple memoranda of agreement (MOAs) with district bargaining units, adopted policy updates and accepted the Ulster County BOCES administrative budget for 2026-27.
Motions and votes recorded on the consent agenda included approval of an MOA with the Rondout Valley paraprofessional unit and several MOAs with the Rondout Valley Administrators and Professionals Association; each motion was seconded and carried as recorded in the meeting. The board also voted to approve policy 8505 (charging meals and other food items), policy 8520 (free meal services), and policy 8130 (school safety plans and teams) on first reading and adoption as presented.
The board adopted the Ulster County BOCES administrative budget of $7,420,327 for the 2026-2027 school year as presented.
Administrators and principals introduced and congratulated several teachers for tenure or appointments, including Evan O'Shea, Rachel Adams and Jaden Broadhead, and announced a Thomas King award night to recognize tenured teachers on May 21.
Separately, the board introduced a motion to terminate employee #02277 but moved that matter to executive session and tabled the vote until after closed deliberations.
What's next: The board will complete executive-session consideration of the personnel matter and return to public session for any action; routine consent items and the BOCES budget are final as approved.
