County leaders moved and approved a $250-per-night lodging cap plus taxes for travel during Austin legislative days and for Washington travel, after the sheriff and other attendees noted actual room rates observed in Austin were higher and the policy language covers Austin and Washington travel. The vote to set the $250 cap carried unanimously.
The court ratified a $2,500 change order for additional excavation on a front beam and awarded bid No. 25-8 to "Alvin Eto" as presented. Several small donations and revenue certification items were approved, and the court authorized the county judge and Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez to sign a listed document. An item to compensate two deputy clerks for holiday work related to elections was presented as informational and required no retroactive action.
The meeting included administrative and personnel items: staff described a payroll audit that resulted in annual-leave cutoffs and comp-time adjustments; departments will be notified in writing. The judge also announced a public unveiling ceremony for Enrique Henry Fernandez at the courthouse.
