Bradenton CRA says engineered plans for sustainable homes are complete, project moves toward purchasing

The Bradenton Community Redevelopment Agency was told April 22 that the full set of engineered plans for the agency's sustainable-home prototypes has arrived and staff will move the project forward toward purchasing and planning review. A staff member told the board the plans are complete and available for inspection at the CRA office.
The plans, described by staff as engineered prototype drawings, will allow the agency to finalize purchasing decisions and to meet with the city planning department to advance permitting and site work. "Yesterday I'm proud to announce that we got the full set of plans for the sustainable homes," the staff member said, noting PDFs can be produced for board members who want to review them.
Board members were given the opportunity to see the prototypes in person; staff said the plan set will help the CRA "figure some of the bells and whistles out" on the prototypes before construction. The staff member also suggested board members visit the office to view the plans rather than rely solely on summaries sent by email.
The board did not take a formal vote on the project at the April meeting; staff said follow-up items and procurement steps will be scheduled as the agency prepares contracts and coordinates with planning. The item will appear again in upcoming procurement or project-update agendas as staff documents next steps.
