The administration said the cost is included in the 2026–27 teaching & learning budget and that high‑school child development students might volunteer to provide additional support.
Board members asked how students would be identified; staff replied that the recommended kindergarten screening tool (under separate vetting) would inform invitations and selection, and that the program would prioritize students with the highest need. Occupational therapy and physical‑development considerations will be included in planning, staff said.
The committee agreed to move the staffing request and program recommendation to the legislative docket for formal approval; staff said they will return with implementation details and an enrollment process.
