The Churchill County Library Board of Trustees approved routine meeting business on voice votes Monday, including minutes from March 26, 2026 and the March budget and library gift fund reports.
Maddie moved to approve the minutes and Sue seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and the motion passed. The board followed the same procedure to approve the monthly budget reports and the March library gift fund report without public comment.
During new business, trustees reviewed their bylaws and debated whether to amend the secretary role. Deputy District Attorney Cecilia Blue, speaking "for the record," advised that the bylaws could remain as written and that the Nevada Revised Statutes are silent on the specific duties of a secretary; she described the question as one of efficiency rather than legal requirement. After discussion, Sue moved to continue the bylaws as written and the motion passed by voice vote.
During the public-comment period a letter from trustee Jessica Row was read into the record announcing her resignation, effective April 23, 2026; John read the letter and noted a scrivener’s error in the year listed on the submitted letter. Trustees thanked Row for her service and said the vacancy would be addressed through the appropriate agenda process.
The meeting adjourned after the board closed public comment.
