The Parma City School District board approved several finance and human-resources resolutions at its April 23 meeting while also accommodating extended public comment on a recent death at Valley Forge High School.
The board adopted Resolution 2026-04-197, approving the March 2026 financial report, and Resolution 2026-04-198, supplemental appropriations; both passed by roll call. On personnel items, the board adopted a package of certificated confirmations and other HR items under Resolution 2026-04-199 but divided item three (a confirmation of change in certificated assignment) for separate consideration after a request by Mrs. Sebastian.
Following debate, the board voted to postpone consideration of that certificated reassignment to the next regularly scheduled meeting (the motion to postpone passed by roll call, with Mr. Reyes voting no and the other members voting yes). Additional personnel resolutions approved that evening included Resolution 2026-04-2000 (acceptance of certified retirements), Resolution 2026-04-201 (acceptance of certified administrative retirements), Resolution 2026-04-202 (continuing contracts for 2026–27), Resolution 2026-04-203 (classified confirmations) and Resolution 2026-04-204 (acceptance of classified retirements); each passed by roll call as recorded.
The meeting concluded with the board adopting Resolution 2026-04-205 to adjourn into executive session at 6:25 p.m. relative to negotiations. The board also voted early in the meeting to adopt the agenda (Resolution 2026-04-194) and to approve the April 9, 2026 written record (Resolution 2026-04-195).
Votes were recorded on the public record by roll call for each resolution; specific vote tallies and individual yes/no votes are reflected in the board minutes and in the actions list from the meeting. The board said the postponed certificated reassignment would be returned to the agenda for the next regular meeting for further discussion and vote.
