At the board’s annual organizational meeting on April 22, 2026, members elected new officers and completed routine governance actions.
Mr. Terry Tyson was elected board president by voice vote after nominations; Dr. Sheila Paul Walker was elected vice president by acclamation. Jamal Bailey was elected secretary and Vivian Manzari assistant secretary. Dr. Courtney Graves and Dr. Donna Paulette Thurman were named Missouri School Boards Association representatives, with Dr. Kevin M. Martin as alternate. Anthony Chance was elected treasurer and Jacqueline Maxwell assistant treasurer.
The board presented a plaque to outgoing 2025–2026 president Donna Paulette Thurman in recognition of her service. The board also authorized continued use of current facsimile signatures pending certification and reaffirmed its Code of Ethics. The district readopted policy BBFA to meet Missouri requirements on board member conflict-of-interest and financial disclosure.
Consent-agenda items that had undergone subcommittee review were approved in a single vote; any item could have been pulled for separate consideration. The reorganization portion of the meeting concluded before the superintendent’s remarks and the remainder of the agenda.
