The commission endorsed a revised concept for an addition and accessibility improvements at 410 West State Street, the site of the Bantucha restaurant.
Rob Costello of Torch Architecture said the design retains stone below the windows and on building corners, keeps the angled left‑side windows and uses a clear anodized finish to match existing elements. The canopy treatment was adjusted (open louvered canopy on the right, angled closed canopy on the left), and the addition is set back from the main façade. Commissioners praised the balance of original fabric and new construction and encouraged the applicant to proceed to permit with the updated materials.
Staff said the applicant will submit a permit application after addressing outstanding detail items from the concept review. Commissioners offered mostly positive comments and no formal vote was required at the concept stage.
