Monroe-Woodbury Board adopts 2026-2027 budget, approves BOCES administrative budget and BOCES board selections; adjourns to executive session

The Monroe-Woodbury Central School District Board of Education on Tuesday approved the proposed 2026-2027 budget and adopted the district's 2026-2027 property tax report card during a special meeting April 21.
The board also approved the Orange-Ulster-BOCES 2026-2027 administrative budget and cast the district's votes to fill two vacancies on the Orange-Ulster-BOCES cooperative board, voting for Lawrence Larry Berger and Martha Bogart, the board announced during the meeting. All motions reported in the public portion were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
Board members first approved a revised agenda and the minutes of the April 8, 2026 regular meeting before taking up the budget and BOCES items. A motion to adopt the proposed 2026-2027 district budget and to file the district's property tax report card passed by voice vote, after which the board approved the Orange-Ulster-BOCES administrative budget for 2026-2027.
On the cooperative board vacancies, the board moved to cast one vote for each vacancy and recorded votes in favor of Lawrence Larry Berger and Martha Bogart. The meeting record shows each motion was seconded and the chair called for an "Aye" vote; the chair declared the motions carried.
After completing the public agenda items, the board moved to adjourn the public portion and convene an executive session to discuss the annual probationary staff review.
