The board devoted time to recognizing district employees and student leaders. The meeting included presentations naming Mrs. Jones as elementary Teacher of the Year and Mr. James Nava as secondary Teacher of the Year; both were introduced by trustees and district administrators with summaries of their careers and contributions to student learning.
Students from multiple campuses gave short presentations — Valeria Montes reported strong state-testing outcomes and upcoming spring musicals; student leaders described CTE completions, arts and athletics accomplishments and graduation plans. Trustees and the superintendent publicly congratulated honorees and students; the board also noted county-level recognitions that will be formalized with photographs and public announcements.
These honors were ceremonial; the board used the occasion to highlight instructional improvements, CTE successes and student extracurricular achievements across the district.
