Yolo Middle School students present new FFA chapter to board, outline activities and growth plans

Nathan Pignat, the chapter president for 2025–26, described the program pathways including ag mechanics (woodworking, basic electrical and welding), ag exploration classes for sixth graders and planned additions such as an agriscience pathway that could double membership next year. Students recounted participation in leadership conferences, the Tulare World Ag Expo, Camp Sylvester and state conferences; Aubrey Gearhart described being a delegate at the 98th State Conference and noted workshops and speakers.
Students outlined monthly meetings, fundraising activities supported by local business donations and planned Career Development Events and leadership development activities for 2026. The chapter invited board members to an awards banquet on May 21 at 5:00 p.m. in the Yolo Middle School cafeteria.
The presentation was accompanied by board praise and applause; no action was required.
