The Sawyer County Board of Supervisors elected Ronald Kinsley as chair and Ron Buck Holtz as vice chair during the board's April 21 organizational meeting.
Clerk-led secret-ballot nominations produced two nominations for chair. After Supervisor Buck Holtz declined the chair nomination, the deputy clerk collected ballots and the clerk announced, “the votes were unanimous for Ron Kinsley. So, your new county board chairman is Mr. Ronald Kinsley.” Kinsley thanked the board.
For vice chair, supervisors nominated multiple candidates and cast secret ballots; the clerk announced that a majority of votes were cast for Ron Buck Holtz, who said he would continue to do his best for Sawyer County and work with the chair.
The elections followed the formal swearing-in of board members. The board then proceeded with routine organizational business, including scheduling a special committee-orientation meeting for April 30. The board did not record individual roll-call vote tallies in the public minutes for the leadership elections.
The chair and vice chair will preside over the board through its next organizational cycle and will lead upcoming discussions scheduled for the special orientation meeting.
