Bremer County authorizes health and dental renewals and approves cellphone reimbursements
Summary

The Bremer County board authorized the chair to sign annual benefit renewals and approved routine employee cellphone reimbursements for FY27.
Barb and a Wellmark representative presented the health insurance renewal and explained that federal rules raised the maximums for high-deductible plans; staff said the individual deductible (and the related out-of-pocket maximum) will increase to $3,400 for covered employees. The board authorized the chair to sign the renewal paperwork and to sign the summary of benefits and coverage documents when they arrive.
The board also authorized the chair to sign the Delta Dental renewal. Staff reported a 5.5% premium increase and said employees cover 100% of the Delta Dental premium; the board approved the authorization.
On compensation matters the board approved FY27 cellphone reimbursements (the minimum monthly reimbursement was noted as $20) and agreed to additional allowances for two employees (named Andy and Aaron) whose duties require extra mobile service for emergency and field access.
Next steps: staff will execute renewal signatures, publish open-enrollment materials and finalize reimbursement details.
