At the April 21 meeting the Millville City Commission approved resolution item number five to authorize additional emergency temporary appropriations pending final adoption of the calendar-year 2026 budget.
A commissioner explained the measure is intended to allow the city to pay outstanding bills and payroll obligations while staff finalize the 2026 budget. “This does not affect any tax base at this point. This is all based on 2025,” a commissioner said during discussion.
The resolution passed on a roll-call vote with all commissioners voting yes.
The commission also approved several routine contract amendments and a purchase order related to an I-Bank application (resolution items 3, 4 and 6). Commissioners described item six as engaging Triad Associates to prepare and submit an I-Bank application; no detailed contract amounts were discussed in the public meeting.
Next steps: staff will proceed with the I-Bank application work and return final budget documents for adoption at a later meeting.
