On April 22 the City Commission advanced three related ordinance amendments to update water and sewer, public-safety and park impact fees to reflect an updated rate study and current infrastructure needs.
Staff said the currently adopted fees did not match recent infrastructure requirements and that updated calculations were prepared by the city's consultant (Stantec Consulting Services, Inc., referenced for the water/sewer update). The water and sewer impact-fee amendment (first reading) was recorded as passing on the first roll call (4–0). The public-safety and park-impact fee amendments were likewise advanced on first reading; staff said these changes are intended to ensure new development pays a share of system costs required to support growth.
Commissioners had no substantive public comment at the hearing and asked for continued review between first and second reading; one commissioner recommended an automatic two-year review of fee schedules to ensure fees remain current. The items will return for second reading and formal adoption with final fee schedules.
