Morgan County briefs: bridge closure, data-center road repairs, fuel-tank upgrades and website ADA compliance

At the April 20 meeting, county staff provided several operational updates and brief announcements.
Bridge work: County staff reported work began on bridge number 29 over Indian Creek Trace on Mahal'sville Road; that portion of Mahal'sville Road is closed and traffic is detoured via Railroad Road. Staff estimated the closure and work could last multiple months.
Road repairs: A data center on Keller Hill Road arranged and carried out repairs to damaged pavement in some locations without a formal county contract. Staff inspected the work and requested the board's direction to pursue a standing agreement so the county can require timely repairs or cost recovery when private construction damages roads.
Fuel tanks and Maple Turn Road: Highway fuel tanks are being replaced and backfilled at the county highway facility. AES completed repairs to Maple Turn Road blowouts; staff said a few follow-up spots remain to be addressed.
Website ADA compliance: Staff announced that the county’s website is now ADA-compliant ahead of an extended federal deadline. Documents can be converted to accessible formats and the site includes an accessibility tool for users. Commissioners thanked staff for completing the work in advance of the deadline.
The board noted these updates for the public record and asked staff to return with any needed agreements or timelines for follow-up work.
