"I'm asking for you to grant the city manager option one up to $90,000," Chambers told the council. He said the quote includes contingency funds and that the design would allow consolidated credential access for staff and integrated monitoring.
Council members asked whether the system was new to the city or an expansion of existing infrastructure; Chambers said it would be an expansion that keeps the system consistent and avoids managing multiple security vendors. Council moved and approved the authorization for the city manager to proceed under option one with the budget authority requested.
The upgrades are intended to improve security and remote monitoring of critical water and wastewater infrastructure. Staff will return with procurement details and monitoring agreements before full implementation.
