The Vermillion City Council took several procedural and procurement votes at its April 20 meeting.
- Mamacita’s liquor-license hearing: The applicant requested a postponement and the council continued the public hearing to May 4. The motion to continue was moved, seconded and carried by voice vote.
- Consent agenda: The council approved the consent agenda, which included invoices payable, a resolution adjusting the landfill gate fee for asbestos and contaminated soil, and a resolution authorizing the purchase of two dump truck chassis for the street department. The consent agenda passed by voice vote.
- City Hall roof replacement: Staff reported four bids; the recommended low bid was from JC Roofing and Insulating of South Sioux City, Nebraska in the amount of $133,541.65. The council moved to approve the award; the work is to be completed by July 31 and carries a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty.
- Executive session: Council moved into executive session under state statute 1-25-2(3) to discuss a legal matter; the motion passed on a voice vote.
