The Colorado Senate on April 22 progressed a broad slate of legislation and confirmations, advancing bills on the consent calendar and passing multiple measures on third reading.
Several committees reported and the Senate placed numerous bills on the consent calendar. The chamber adopted committee reports and passed stacks of bills on the special orders consent calendar, among them Senate Bill 133 and House Bills 1181, 1197 and 1280. The clerk recorded roll‑call tallies for many of the consent items and several senators registered no votes on particular bills (those no‑votes were entered on the record during the session).
On third reading the Senate passed a series of House bills that continue or implement recommendations from sunset reviews and other agency reports, including House Bill 1183 (continuation of licensing for pet animal facilities), House Bill 1184 (continuation of the Colorado Forest Health Council), and House Bill 1187 (continuation of fire suppression programs). The chamber also adopted a technical amendment (L009) to Senate Bill 36 to correct a statutory citation; Senate Bill 36 as amended was then passed.
The session included confirmation language for a number of appointments for boards and commissions (board of assessment appeals, statewide internet portal authority, Underground Damage Prevention Safety Commission, uninsured employer board, board of real estate appraisers), with term dates read on the floor and appointments placed on the consent calendar for confirmation.
Several scheduling motions were also approved: the Senate set times for special orders, resolved into the committee of the whole for consent readings, and later voted to lay over general order second reading bills until April 24, 2026. The body recessed until noon after a series of announcements about committee meetings and Capitol events.
